kept over the centuries and passed down the generations.

Disney = long lines and sore feet and exhaustion!
BUT...
the Avatar ride in Pandora was worth it all!
You are gliding on a Banshee through the Fantastic Pandora landscape,
even though you never leave your seat,
you duck and lean to avoid hitting branches and arches and going into the ocean!
WILD!
A giant plant, along the 3 hour walk to the ride!
Very well thought out exhibit!

It's quite a distraction...
and then,

Wonder on the other hand,
it will lift you up and up and up!

Captain buried at Disney and the sunset is off my deck.
There was a very short story,
written years ago by Susan Sontag with a title similar to the title of this post.
Once you have finished that story
you discover that the author had never been to China after all!
Same thing here,
neither have I!
The China Pavillion at Epcot Center, Disney.
Susan Sontag's short story appeared in "I etcetera", from what I can glean doing a google search! If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know!

"Captain" is buried at Disney World and now rests in brine.
Sunset, just off my deck one surprising evening.
Sometimes in our lives we have dreams that aren't going to come true.
These dreams sustain us and inspire us for years,
until one day we wake up and know it is a dream,
and just a dream.
Maybe next lifetime we'll get the skill set needed to realize our unmet dreams,
or we'll dream new dreams for our new life.
Who knows?
Either way, keep dreaming!

I always dreamed I'd be a filmmaker...
In Disney parks,
a lot of things are make believe.
But the sun setting at Epcot was very real.
As was the food and the people and the friends we came with and the friends we met at the park.
All real!

Three days, three Disney parks...
and oh so many princesses!
A whirlwind of fun, crowds and surprises,
the first time for this old gal,
with a new appreciation for the creativity
that is Disney.
