Remember that storm cloud?

 

 

Well, not having mastered the art of stitching photos together,

I still had to share this imperfect attempt.

The Jasmine is blooming again in St. Augustine.

In backyards and front yards,

the scent is everywhere.

 

 

 

 

 

The Essence Remains...

 

When I was a little girl,

I loved the smell of the earth,

flowers and trees and fresh mown grass,

starry nights and beautiful sunsets,

and time spent at the beach.

 

     

 

A lot of life has happened between then and now,

and I still love all of those things,

as well as making people smile,

feeling connected to just about everyone (on a good day!),

and I especially love the deep friendship that I have cultivated with myself.

 

The essence remains-

we are still those children that we once were

with the refinement that a life lived allows.

When Worlds Collide, or Pass Like Ships in the Night, or Day...

 

When Galaxies collide there is so much space out there that

it is rare that any celestial bodies actually come into contact with each other.

 

Same thing here in this photo.

 

 

From the deck of El Galeon, a replica of a 16th century Spanish supply ship,

one could see a blimp.

 

Perhaps better said that centuries collide!

 

 

 

 

Shooting photos with a phone in the sun, it is sometimes difficult to tell what one (me!) is actually getting in the shot. Happily the blimp is here with a spar from the visiting Ship, El Galeon, docked at the Marina in St. Augustine, Florida.

 

 

 

High Drama

 

It's great when the drama in your life is in the sky!

Saturday's afternoon thunder storm literally rolled in on a wave of air.

 

 

 

 

The wind was rearranging these clouds so fast,

and then the rain came and it came BIG!

In Defense of Old(er) People...

 

 

 

It used to be that when an older person was fumbling with their money

or credit card, having trouble getting things out of their wallet or purse,

that I thought they were going a little soft in the head. 

 

Now that I am in their ranks

I know that the hands just don't work like they used to,

and sometimes they hurt.

 

So, patience in all things:

 

We who aren't like we used to be,

and

ye, who might not understand.

 

 

 

 

 

I find that Gluucosamine with MSM really does help!

 

 

 

Misty, Moisty Morning...

 

 

One misty, moisty, morning,

when cloudy was the weather...

 

 

 

 

 

Palencia golf course, St. Augustine Florida, just before sunrise and the fog got thicker and thickerer until the sun finally burned through...

 

Grounded...

 

 

 

These solid, sturdy, dependable mountains,

remind me of the

wild, rolling ocean,

wave after wave after wave.

 

Except they are very much more grounded than the airy, watery ocean waves.
