Made it just in time to the island end of the Bridge of Lions for the fireworks.
Set up the tripod as they began and my favorite one,
the one that looked like a water fall, didn't photograph well,
(we've all been there!)
The bridge, which is closed to traffic for the occasion, was mobbed with happy families
and others, like myself!
So many people!
Too much traffic for my old car on the way home,
so a detour to the Conch House for a beer,
and what is it about a marina that soothes the heart and soul?
Maybe I don't want to know the answer to that
and just enjoy the denouement of the night.
(And where do the pelicans sleep, anyway?)
And by the way, thinking about the 4th of July, 1776,
I must say that I have a lot of faith in the goodness of the people of America,
and trust that we will get this country back on track, in due time.
Soon.
There, I said it.
