Daniel Ladinsky: Love Poems from God: Twelve Sacred Voices from the East and West (Compass)
A wonderful collection of poetry to uplift the soul and spirit that will make you laugh and cry with the spiritual teachers of the centuries. (*****)
John Moyne: Open Secret: Versions of Rumi
This book was my introduction to Rumi and his poetry. It remains one of my all time favorites. (*****)
Pema Chodron: Start Where You Are: A Guide to Compassionate Living (Shambhala Library)
This guide encourages you to believe that you are good to go, right now, right here. Even if you are not a Buddhist, the philosophy and practical advice will benefit the willing reader. (*****)
Osho: The Buddha Said...: Meeting the Challenge of Life's Difficulties
It is difficult to summarize this book, but the things that you think that you know look very different in the light of Osho's words. He adds layers to knowing. (*****)

Clarissa Pinkola Estes: Women Who Run with the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype
This generous work has the ability to help a woman understand her world and why she might not feel like she belongs here and what she can do to remedy that. Sharon Salzberg: Faith: Trusting Your Own Deepest Experience

Michael De Larrabeiti: Provencal Tales
This is a book that I have read over and over and over again. The "Tales" in the book are interspersed with the author's very own fairy tale - his story of traveling with the shepherds of Grimaud in 1959 up to the Basses Alpes with 500 sheep! Mr. De Larrabeiti is such a good story teller that I never tire of his adventure or the lessons from the tales. (*****)
Beryl Markham: West with the Night
If you ever want to read an elegant sentence or paragraph, pick up this book. When you can write in such a way that the reader feels like they are with you in the scene, whether in the African jungle sitting around a camp fire, or in a propeller plane, alone, in the dark, over the Atlantic ocean, then you have written well. Beryl Markham is a master story teller. This is another book that I pick up from time to time and still find new things to be amazed by. (*****)
Coleman Barks: The Essential Rumi - reissue: New Expanded Edition
This is a rich collection of Rumi's work. It challenges and inspires. (*****)
I love fresh air and walking on the beach and boogie boarding in the waves. Love watching nature do her thing. Even though I do not presume to have any idea of what goes on in their worlds other than that which I can observe, I can't resist putting words in the mouths of some of the critters I have photographed, kids too! I can't help it. My respect is deep as is my gratitude. I love reading too and hanging with friends and family. And I love taking photographs and sharing them.
